Arizona Business Compliance Checklist

Staying compliant in Arizona is mostly about staying organized. Use this checklist as your yearly baseline — adjust for your industry as needed.

At formation

  • File Articles of Organization or Incorporation with the ACC
  • Appoint a Statutory Agent with an Arizona address
  • Complete Arizona publication (if required)
  • Get an EIN from the IRS
  • Draft an Operating Agreement or corporate bylaws
  • Open a dedicated business bank account

Ongoing — Arizona Corporation Commission

  • Corporations: file Annual Report with the ACC (no annual report required for AZ LLCs — but other filings may apply)
  • Keep your Statutory Agent information up to date
  • File any changes to members/managers or directors promptly

Ongoing — Tax & licensing

  • Register for Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) if applicable
  • File monthly, quarterly, or annual TPT returns
  • File federal income tax (1065, 1120, 1120-S, or Schedule C)
  • Renew local business licenses (city / county)
